Santa Rosa Chamber Winter Light Committee members, Kimberly, Trish, Janet, Michaela and Chris Smith from the Press Democrat gathered together on Monday November 23 to judge the lighting displays and were impressed by what they saw.
With 12 businesses entering the race, all did a great job decorating their store fronts with holiday inspired decorations and Christmas lights. A special thank you goes out to Skeeter’s Gallery, Made Local Marketplace, Kindred Fair Trade Handcrafts, She’s Boutique, Portobello Hats, Liv Boutique and especially this year’s winner Darcy’s Fine Jewelers with owners Terry and Greg Darcy going all out for the competition, although it was very close between a couple of other businesses.
Darcy’s Fine Jewelers will be acknowledged at the Winter Lights celebration on November 27, 2015 in Santa Rosa downtown square where they will be rewarded with an online and print advertising spread from the Press Democrat and $2000 worth of signs and printing from AJ Printing & Graphics and Wine Country Signs. Darcy’s Fine Jewelers is owned by Terry and Gary Darcy who have over 30 years of experience in the jewelry business and were excited to participate in this year’s Business Lighting Contest because of the amazing prize and the downtown spirit, as Terry Darcy has also served on committees in the Santa Rosa Chamber supporting her local community.
Feel free to stop by any of the participating businesses and show your support, their decorations should be out for the remainder of the holidays.
Next year we hope to get more downtown businesses involved in order to unify downtown with the holiday spirit. So spread the word!
